CVV Willemstad is a professional football club of Curaçao, in the city of Willemstad. It was founded in 1939 and played in the League of Curaçao and Netherlands Antilles.

History

How it all began?

In early 1939 one of the men of the famous KLM airline outraged that she could be a member of the SOV seat, (the sports association of the Shell refinery.) This association was only open to employees of Shell.

The pilots of the airline wanted to spend time on something different when they were in Curaçao, just spend a little fly, swim and drink. To play soccer with a handful of fans at night one or more drinks at the Mambo club the Court of Berlin itself, decided to create a football club.

Soon the name of the Football Association of Willemstad Curaçao invented. The KLM-ers were open to members of "out."

On April 28, 1939, was CVV Willemstad 'born'.

The club joined the Football Union of Curaçao in the Second Division. The first game was against FC Sharp and lost 1-0.

A year later, won the first prize, how could it be otherwise, a good Dutch beer mug is the tradition of celebrating this team.

On November 1, 1941, is a strange date, the anniversary celebration in February.

In 1944, the first major football success achieved, the Peace Throphee was won.

The annual report of 1945 shows that at the end of World War II, many moved to the Netherlands spectrometers Willemstad, to help rebuild the country. That year was a tough team to get on their feet.

Shell refinery played in 1949, like 10 years ago, once again an important role in Willemstad.

In 1948, Willemstad Membership reaches 100.

Willemstad moved in 1950 to the present site in Bramendiweg.

In 1951 the club up to the first division. A very important year, because even appears for the first time, the Green and White trumpet, St. Nicholas is the first visit. The demonstration was organized by the first car and the youth office dedicated set.

In the year 1961 (!) Get your home club.

In 1973 a record number of visitors, members of the General Assembly of Members, 94 were counted. There were riots in the club. That same year, Sports Women's Day arrives. It is not known if this had to do with each other. Willemstad has actively participated in the creation of the Free Football Curaçao. In 1973, the first official match played by this new association between Willemstad and Quick-60. Willemstad won 1-0.

1994 is a very important year for Willemstad. The illumination of the desired length is running.

Inter Willemstad established in 1997.

In 1999, the 60 th anniversary of the association held. A magazine published in Holland. The magazine's anniversary is the source of this historic journey. Is used by many members and former members participated. Even now that Albert van Eijk, Leen Close, Koos de Vos, Rosheuvel Ben, Leen Huizer, H. Jordaan, Gerben Kroeger, Hilgersom Coen, thrush Hanco and everyone else who contributed to this publication have done so grateful.
